Whether purchased as individual condo units as a fishing getaway, surfing rental, a nature retreat or as a single retirement compound meant for generations of family to gather, architect, developer and builder Christopher Higgins’ “Chanson de la Mer” (Song of the Sea) project would make a wonderful setting.
With topography like Northern Italy, a southern facing coastline and zero property taxes until 2030, Chris saw the real estate opportunity and invested in Panama and its beauty.
While riding motorcycles in 2008 with a close friend and wealth manager for one of the big four brokerage houses, the two began a discussion about the amazing incentives for growth in the lovely and stable country of Panama in Central America.
Chris decided to fly down and check Panama out for himself. Once in Panama, and after traveling extensively through the region…Chris fell in love with one coastline in specific, an area known as the Azueros Peninsula.
After a year of searching for the right parcel in the Azueros region for his Chanson de la Mer condo project, Chris came upon a plot only one half mile to Rio Oria beach in a town called Pedasi. On an elevated bluff, he raised a foundation and built a one-of-a-kind condo project designed for comfort and affordability.
